













- Keep your child close to you
- Be aware of your surroundings by surveying the area around you.
- Don't put your guard down even if it’s a familiar area. It doesn't take a stranger to kidnap you.
- Do not approach unfamiliar car, instead talk to the person from a distance. Kids should avoid talking to strangers.
- Never take anything from a stranger that's driving by or walks up to you.
- Kids should not talk to strangers, even if they appear to be nice.
- Always tell your parents if someone or a situation make you uncomfortable.
- Change your route and/or routine regularly, if possible.
- Lock the doors to your home and car, even if you feel safe in the area.
- Tell an adult if a stranger approaches you or talks to you, even if it seems insignificant.
- Don't walk alone to places if possible.
- Don't put your child’s name on outside of clothing or personal items. If a stranger calls the child by their name they may think the person knows them.
- Don't leave a child alone in a car or at home.
- Tell your child if their lost to look for someone in uniform for help. If you frequent a grocery store tell your child to approach a cashier if their lost. A police officer or security, if possible.
- Explain to a child to scream and yell and bite if someone tries to grab them. Tell them to yell stranger danger, you’re not my mommy or daddy or something like that because it can be difficult to tell if the person is a parent or a stranger.
- Make sure someone knows where you and your children at all times.
- Make sure your child knows their parents real name, phone number and address.
- Teach your child self defense or have someone teach them.

I just back from a short flight today. I saw many parent just let their kids playing in airport unattended by adult. Some are even play so far from their parents. Airport maybe have a bt of security but you don't know if someone want to do kidnapping in there. Bad day is something we can prevent to happen. Thanks for sharing your post.
